Matthew C. Wagner, Chair of DMOC’s Intellectual Property Department, lectured on copyright law on Day Two of the New York City Bar Association’s Bridge-the-Gap CLE program.  This program, a 16-Hour Bridge-The-Gap course, focused on Corporate & Litigation topics, and was presented over two Wednesdays, on May 22 & 29, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.  Mr. Wagner’s portion of the program occurred the morning of May 29 and covered the basics of copyright law and many advanced topics such as strategies for policing infringement online, assessment of terms and conditions for websites, and a model website development agreement.  The presentation was interactive with audience participation and consisted of a Primer & Guide to Practice & Procedures -Enforcement & Licensing Strategies Online, Offline, & in Social Media.  Various materials were prepared and distributed in advance, including model forms, assignment and work made for hire agreements, case law, a guide to filing copyright applications online with the U.S. Copyright Office, Digital Millennium Copyright Act take down notices, and other relevant documents.  Mr. Wagner is a frequent lecturer on copyright law, and other areas of intellectual property law, such as trademarks and advertising.

This NYC Bar Association CLE seminar was approved for CLE credit in California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
